Mr. Jain says the motivation for him is nothing but internal & external sources of energy which boosts me to achieve all his objectives.

A self-motivated person with strong work ethic and also possess a clear vision of all aspects of his life.  A self-motivated person draws from their vision and is definitely not affected by the opinions of others but only by their own authentic dreams.

Challenges faced withstanding the complexities of the industry.

Having worked in diverse Industries, complexities and challenges were different in different Industries.

But If we are talking about the helmet Industry, the Manufacturing helmet is not a simple & easy task as huge investments are needed as it is a voluminous product. Moreover, the helmet manufacturing process is technology, as well as labour oriented products at the same time and brands like us, need to make this much-needed move to fill the gap.

Firstly, helmets being a life-saving device, it should be ISI marked only, but still, non-ISI marked helmets are being extensively produced in our country. The government has yet not brought the helmet into the mandatory list. It’s unbelievable that most of the electronics are ISI certified but the helmets aren’t and this is a major challenge to face. The capacity of 50% ISI marked helmet manufacturers are empty as the market is flooded with non-ISI and fake helmets. Secondly, the helmet Industry doesn’t know when the government will make helmet mandatory Pan India. As of now, the total investment required to serve the helmets to the Indian market is Rs.6000 crores so, nobody is ready to invest on this heavily because the industry players don’t know when the helmet will be mandatory Pan India. Right now, the helmets comes under Luxury products as 18% GST is levied on it. The company have purposefully urged the GST council to cut the GST on helmets to 0% as helmet is a life saving device and is equivalent to medicines when its importance is considered.

Ensuring the Excellence Through quality

Steelbird is 55 year old organisation. Steelbird group is diversified into helmets, accessories, entertainment business,Online company, Engineering components business and into many more businesses but Steelbird Hi Tech India Ltd is Asia’s largest ISI helmet company, the flagship company of Steelbird group engaged into manufacturing of helmets.

Based on segmentation and business pyramid, there are many brands including

Steelbird Air

Steelbird Hi GN

Ignyte, to name a few.

Steelbird presently has three manufacturing plants with an overall production capacity of around 40,000 helmets and 3000 side boxes per day. While most of our production operations are carried out across India, we also ensure to adhere to the European standards for export. Our major manufacturing plant – Steelbird  Hi-Tech India Ltd. spans around two lakh sq feet of area with a production capacity of 15000 helmets per day, world-class automatic painting lines ( 9000 helmets per day) and robotic visor lines ( 900 visors per day ). Our second plant GLL Industries ( under construction ) also spans around two lakh Sq. feet of area with the production capacity of 18000 helmets per day, automatic painting lines and robotic visor lines. Located very near to this is our third plant – 3Generations ( under construction ) spanning two lakh sq. feet area with the production capacity of 6000 helmets per day and 3000 side boxes per day. With rigorous R & D going across all our manufacturing plants, we will soon be launching new technologies, brands, and products under various segments. At present, the company is boosting the manufacturing capacity of its state of the art plant in Baddi in Himachal Pradesh with an investment of about Rs. 150 crores.

The current industry scenario

If we talk about the current general industry scenario, India’s economy is following a sharp decline in consumer demand and tepid investment. The government has already announced a series of measures as part of its efforts to put growth back on track but if we talk about the helmet industry, time is extremely favorable as the industry has a lot of support from the government. With the growing demand for helmets, Steelbird is looking to double its turnover to Rs.1000 crore by 2020-21 from around Rs.500 crore at present.

The brand is elevating both at domestic and international levels. Plants are at expansion mode, production capacity is increasing,

New exclusive shops are opening, New products and technologies are being launched, all verticals are deeper penetrated with a full range of products.

Future goals

Seeing both the company and myself at growing platforms in the near future. After a long wait of three years,

The motor vehicle ( amendment )  act 2019 was passed by parliament and received president’s  assent on August 9. The act saw manifold increase in fines while riding two wheelers without wearing helmets. Therefore company is investing Rs.150 crores across its three plants in baddi( H.P ) as it looks to cater to increased demand across the country.  The fresh investment will help the company expand its product portfolio and add more models to the existing range. Simultaneously company is focusing on all verticals for deeper penetration.

Enlightening the Newcomers

Entrepreneurship is an exciting journey. In this journey, one has to go through many good & bad phases.

Lots of people will interact and advise. so, listen to all & consider good advice, always stay positive, must Believe in yourself that goals will be achieved. Don’t hesitate to take the calculated risk & understand market dynamics. Create the best teams & teamwork can do wonders. Good luck!
